Get to know the RDT-Therapy Team

We would like to share a little more about ourselves and our vision for 2021.

Raynette du Toit ( Head therapist)

Why did you choose to become a therapeutic massage therapist?

Holistic healing steered me on a wonderful, fascinating journey!

It is a blessing to be able to facilitate the body’s healing process.

I’ve learned new approaches over the last couple of years and my therapy style just keeps on evolving, which keeps it interesting.

What area of therapy/condition to treat interests you the most?

Definitely fascia release therapy!

I’m also intrigued by movement patterns and to find the cause of the discomfort and not treating the symptom.

What is your secret superpower?

 My healing hands, of course!

Name 3 things that make life more enjoyable.

  • The Stellenbosch mountains.

  • Good coffee.

  • The ability to explore and enjoy movement.

What is on your bucket list for 2021?

We are working towards the point to get the practice registered as a medical massage practice, thus allowing our clients to claim from their medical aids. Just another step to take therapeutic massage therapy to the next level.

Anja le Roux ( Senior Therapist)

Why did you choose to become a therapeutic massage therapist?

I believe the body has the ability to heal itself if we are patient enough to let it. Through therapy, I get to experience the incredible journey of healing with my clients.

What area of therapy/condition to treat interests you the most?

I have grown a passion for neck mobilization and working general neck conditions. The neck plays a huge role in our day-to-day life and can be taken for granted.

What is your secret superpower?

I know when you are going through your to-do list instead of focusing on referred pain in therapy.

Name 3 things that make life more enjoyable.

  • Nature.

  • Running.

  • Foam rollers.

What is on your bucket list for 2021?

If races open up anytime soon, I’d like to run another half marathon.

Monique Malcomson ( Junior Therapist)

Why did you choose to become a therapeutic massage therapist/reflexologist?

I wanted to become a therapeutic massage therapist in order to help release people’s muscular discomforts. I am training to become a reflexologist due to my enjoyment of massaging feet and that it takes a holistic approach to balancing the body.

What area of therapy/condition to treat interests you the most?

Reflexology and its meridian theories interest me the most in therapy. The shoulders are also quite and an interesting area to work.

What is your secret power?

My hands’ intuition of the feet.

Name your 3 favourite things that make life enjoyable

  • Hiking the local mountains.

  • Hearing people’s life stories.

  • Having a quiet read under the trees.
